Justice and Peace presents during Model United Nations Alfrink
On the 7th February, Justice and Peace was present during the fourteenth edition of MUNA (Model United Nations Alfrink) at the Alfrink College in Zoetermeer.
MUNA is a model version of the United Nations for high school students. During this three-day conference debates are held in different committees. The students must write resolutions together and solve problems that are related to human rights. Students from secondary schools from Sweden, Turkey, India, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands participated in this edition of MUNA. Justice and Peace was asked to speak for the crisis committee. For a group of forty students, Aisha (Communications Officer) and Leroy (Programme Officer Shelter City) spoke about the work of Justice and Peace and the Shelter City program specifically. The students discussed with Justice and Peace the pressing human rights issues that are currently ongoing in their home countries and how they can make an active contribution to the protection of the work of human rights defenders from their position as high school students!
