Enabling outsiders to develop their talents fits well within the objective of the City of Talent programme. This way they can make a durable contribution to their own society. In Groningen knowledge, talent, health and education come together, enabling human rights defenders to strengthen their position and to make the most of themselves. But we are also curious about the stories of the human rights defenders, and what we can learn from them about their fight against inequality and injustice.
The Groningen municipality has found a cooperation and implementing partner in the University College Groningen (UCG) that can offer the human rights defenders a safe, small-scale, English spoken, and engaged academic environment for three months.
