Groningen

The city of Groningen has traditionally been tolerant and welcoming. A city with relaxed relations between different population groups and a city that is committed to prevent exclusion and discrimination. Groningen is a city that looks beyond her borders.

The Shelter City project fits very well with the Groningen tradition of cross-border involvement and international knowledge exchange. We are thus proud that Groningen can welcome two human rights defenders for three months, offer them a safe shelter, and that they can get to know our city and its inhabitants.
